I am an applied anthropologist. I love planning, conducting and synthesising research involving human beings and interesting topics. But, to be honest, I find most things involving people interesting! As an applied anthropologist I’m working in corporate contexts, not academic ones. However, I try to bring in the enormously valuable and rich thinking of my counterparts in academia into the problems and subjects I explore for my clients.
I believe anthropology has a lot to offer the world outside of universities and peer reviewed journal articles. I think it’s especially useful in helping organisations understand their customers and broader social trends and what that means for the products and services they deliver.
